(1973, MCA Records)

A fast followup to his debut, "Michael Stanley" (both LP's were crafted in the studio nearly 'back-to-back', as Stanley juggled a full-time 'day job', area gigging, and a family, recording 'after hours' and during vacation time), "Friends And Legends" produced yet another concert favorite "Let's Get The Show On The Road". Once again, Joe Walsh and Joe Vitale returned to help out in the studio, as did Paul Harris, Kenny Passarelli, Dave Sanborn, Richie Furay, Dan Fogelberg, to name a few; Stanley's second solo album was again produced by Bill Szymczyk.
Better than hinting at the confidence and rock and roll wit that was soon to become Stanley's trademark, "Friends And Legends" was just that: an offering of close-to-the-heart matters and legendary favorites, with his version of John Lennon's "Help" belonging on the same platter as his soon-to-be-concert-opus, "Let's Get The Show On The Road"...
